Winter, just before gun ban

Dear Friend,

THE SECOND AMENDMENT MAY NOT SURVIVE THE 2ND TERM OF BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.

DON'T BE FOOLED!

Even though anti-gun zealots like Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein and Michael Bloomberg couldn't rally the votes to pass a federal law to criminalize your Constitutional Right to keep and bear arms... Their assault on your freedom has only just begun -- and they are spending millions going state to state to get it done that way.

Just ask freedom-loving patriots in states like Maryland, Colorado and New York -- their 2nd Amendment Rights are virtually gone.

That's why I'd like to ask one simple question:

Is the Second Amendment important enough to you to [request and] sign this DECLARATION OF FREEDOM? Or will you do exactly what the pious liberals in Washington want and expect you to do... Nothing!

If you choose to do nothing, they will systematically disarm you, me and every other law-abiding citizen in the United States of America -- leaving us at the mercy of violent thugs and criminals. But I don't believe you'll stand by and do nothing, my friend. Otherwise I wouldn't have written to you today.

We at the American Civil Rights Union are proud patriots just like you. We won't -- can't -- stand by and do nothing as nanny-state liberals take away our God-given Rights. That's why I'm asking you to become part of the American Civil Rights Union's campaign to protect the Second Amendment.

I am proud that since my late husband, Bob, founded the ACRU back in 1998, we have grown into one of the most powerful pro-freedom, legal advocacy groups in Washington. Think of us as the CONSERVATIVE version of the ACLU.

But there are major differences between us and the anti-American, anti-freedom ACLU:

· We take no taxpayer dollars...

· We actually defend the Constitution as it is written...

· We win!

And while we have the influence in Washington to affect legal proceedings on a variety of issues on a nationwide level, we understand that this battle has become one of the greatest threats to liberty and freedom that we face... and this battle is going to be fought face to face, state by state.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Everyone cheered when the federal gun ban failed, but the real effort to confiscate the firearms of legal citizens -- and the fight to stop this effort -- is just beginning.

Barack Obama, Michael Bloomberg, Andrew Cuomo and the elites in the liberal media hate guns -- but most of all, they hate that you are allowed to have one. And while they enjoy the security of armed guards and gated mansions... they are perfectly content to leave you and me at the mercy of armed intruders who break into our homes knowing that we've been disarmed by our own government!

Why shouldn't WE, AS FREE CITIZENS, be entitled to choose whether or not to own a firearm to protect our families and our property?

They say, "You don't need a gun."

And to that, our response needs to be -- "WE DON'T HAVE A BILL OF "NEEDS" -- WE HAVE A BILL OF RIGHTS!!"

The fact is that big government liberals don't see us as citizens -- they see us as subjects. And once we are disarmed and our Second Amendment Rights are a thing of the past, that's exactly what we will become -- subjects of "King Obama" and the rest of his "royal court."

So what are you? A citizen or a subject?

I believe that you and I are free citizens -- citizens who tell the government what to do -- not mere cattle who can be told what we can and cannot do by a bunch of elitist, all-controlling bureaucrats in Washington and in the media.

Even if you don't own a gun... Even if you never plan to own one... Even if you live in a state that protects your 2nd Amendment Rights... There is far more at stake right now than your right to go to Wal-Mart and buy a shotgun.

What's at stake is whether the Constitution even matters anymore.

We at the ACRU believe it does matter -- even if Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Dianne Feinstein don't. The fight to take away your Second Amendment Rights is raging across the country -- and we've already lost ground!

The gun bans being passed in places like New York, Colorado, Maryland and other liberal strongholds are just the first wave.

Now these anti-Freedom zealots are going from state to state -- probing for weak spots to gain more ground and eventually criminalize one of our most precious freedoms -- the right to keep and bear arms.

We, and a few other groups like the NRA and Gun Owners of America have suddenly become the thin blue line that stands between living as free citizens... or living as subjects under "King Obama."

We need your help to continue to reinforce that thin line of resistance, my friend. Will you declare yourself a free citizen right now by [requesting,] signing and rushing back your DECLARATION OF FREEDOM as soon as possible? Today?

If you will, you will help build a groundswell of peaceful resistance against the assault on the Constitution and our God-given freedom to protect ourselves.

I am trying to gather 1 million of these documents to put the occupants of EVERY STATEHOUSE IN THE COUNTRY on notice... I want them forewarned that the voices of one million dedicated and activated patriots will be delivered straight to their doorstep if they have any intention of going the way of New York, Colorado or Maryland... and we won't come quietly.

In fact, I would like to deliver massive piles of signed DECLARATION OF FREEDOM documents by special courier to every state house... and have them dropped with a loud THUD right under the high brows and noses of these Governors and state legislators who think they know better than the rest of us.

My friend, I can't think of a better tool than our DECLARATION OF FREEDOM Campaign to send a clear and overdue reminder of who these fat-cat politicians are accountable to -- the PEOPLE!

We'll also be sending the same message to Washington -- where some weak-kneed politicians are painfully aware that the next election is just around the corner.

Will you help us send this critical message to every state and to the highest officials in Washington? Will you [request for and] sign your DECLARATION OF FREEDOM and rush it back to me today?

I need your help to deliver 1 million signed DECLARATIONS OF FREEDOM documents to critical destinations over the next 90 days to make it clear that the American People DO NOT support what these gun-grabbing politicians are doing in state after state.

But in order to gather 1 million signatures, I must print, stuff and mail out at least 3 million letters just like this one. The expense of an effort like this is astounding -- we have calculated that it will cost almost $1,350,000. I know that sounds like a lot -- and it is -- but we are able to get every one of these DECLARATION OF FREEDOM documents out for about 45 cents each -- an incredible bargain.

So what do you say? Are you with us? Are you a CITIZEN or a SUBJECT?

If you do not simply want to stand aside and wait for somebody else to fight this battle, then don't wait another minute. Sign your DECLARATION OF FREEDOM, stuff it in your special FREEDOM ENVELOPE and rush it back to me as soon as you can.

I will be proud to have your DECLARATION OF FREEDOM added to mine and about 217,000 others who have already taken a stand for freedom and the Constitution by helping us at the American Civil Rights Union. And when you've signed your DECLARATION OF FREEDOM and placed it in your FREEDOM ENVELOPE, I hope you'll pause and think about helping with a one-time financial contribution of $35.

Your one-time gift... will pay for 78 DECLARATION OF FREEDOM documents to be printed, processed and mailed! And if only half of the friends we reach out to respond with a $35 gift of their own, we suddenly have the opportunity to reach 3,000 more American patriots who also refuse to be treated as "subjects" instead of full "citizens" in America!.

Suddenly -- that 1 million number doesn't seem so impossible, does it? It's not my friend. America and the ACLU have faced challenges like this before, and I've seen the American people come together to do great things when liberty is at stake.

My friend, the fact is our liberty is under relentless attack by power-hungry, anti-freedom politicians who see the chance at a political victory they've lusted for since they were hippies in college... finally defeating the Second Amendment, and ultimately disarming the American people.

They'll take every one of your Constitutional Freedoms away from you if you let them.

Because every right you have is a part of your life they can't control! The American Civil Rights Union has vowed to stop them. And we will do all we can to hold true to that VOW. But we really want you to join us in this fight.

All it will cost is your signature on this DECLARATION OF FREEDOM and, if you can afford to send one, a gift of $35, $50, $100 or whatever you can offer.

Not doing anything in response to my letter today will cost you much more in the long run, though. It could cost you one of your most precious Constitutional Rights -- the RIGHT to keep and bear arms.

I know I'm asking a lot of you today, but we honestly don't have any choice. Please help. Please sign your DECLARATION OF FREEDOM and rush it back to me with your one-time gift of $35, $50, $100, $250, $500 or even $1,000 or more.

I simply ask that you do what you can for America and the Second Amendment. I don't expect anyone to write a check for $1,350,000, but your $35 is a critical part of that total.
