Dear Senior Citizen,

[Partial letter] ...I trust you understand the gravity of the situation. Now... I respectfully ask that you give me your undivided attention.

It's imperative that you understand very clearly why many American seniors are at risk of losing one of the most essential health care benefits they are used to receiving in Louisiana. Namely, open access to their primary care physician.

How could this happen? Well, you know it by the nickname the media gave it – "ObamaCare." Its official name is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It's the bill that was rammed down our throats by the White House and the politicians who controlled the U.S. House and senate in the 2010 session.

These are the massive-government politicians who want to force on America a European-style, socialized medicine system.

Buried deep in the 2000 pages of the bill (which nobody read or understood) are provisions which can restrict senior citizens and the disabled to horrible health care choices.

These provisions could reduce seniors' access to quality health care. Even access to their primary care physician. This is happening because "ObamaCare" eventually slashes 30% of Medicare reimbursements that are paid to physicians.

What that means is doctors are going to drop their Medicare patients. It also means they will refuse to take on any new Medicare patients.

Our local physicians here and others across the country warn a looming catastrophe in Medicare is coming if "ObamaCare" is not repealed or defunded by congress. Matter of fact, an internal medicine practitioner in Oklahoma whose practice consists of 55% Medicare patients says:

"[my patients] are older... And need more care and more specialists. Their care is more involved – it takes longer... [because of the new cuts in Medicare under "ObamaCare"] a lot of doctors are planning on dropping out of Medicare and going with a cash fee for office visits."

Imagine what would happen to these seniors if their doctors dropped out of Medicare and they had to pay in cash out of their pocket whenever they went to the doctors office!

Imagine how long they would have to wait to even get an appointment to see their doctors! Seniors lives would be turned upside down. Seniors health needs would be in jeopardy. Seniors future well-being would be at risk.

That is precisely the reason I have sent this emergency congressional alert to you today. And that is precisely the reason I am asking you and select others on whom I'm depending to act quickly to [request for,] sign, date and return to me your attached Congressional Repeal Reply...
