H.R. 914, the
Military Religious Freedom Protection Act
Tuesday morning
Dear Sir,
Let's
be honest. It's not easy to be a Christian in Obama's America. Our men and
women in uniform -- and especially our chaplains -- are being threatened
TODAY with their careers by the Obama-led Defense Department should they
Biblically speak out against homosexuality or gay marriage.
Christians in the military are now being
forced to make a choice between faith and country.
Obama's war against religious freedoms
for military chaplains would end a 237 year tradition of the military
chaplaincy stretching back to General George Washington.
I
urgently need you to sign our National
Petition in Support of America's Military Chaplains right away so that
Traditional Values Coalition can protect America's military chaplains – and stop Obama from delivering
his kickback to the homosexual lobby.
. .
. and when you do, I hope that you can respond to our battle cry with a gift of
$35, $55, $75, or an even more amazing gift of $150, $250, or $500 straight
away! And if $150, $75, or even just $55 is simply too much to ask, your gift
of $35, or whatever you can afford right now means more than the promise of
money later.
Let
me explain to you how over 18 different denominations from Baptists to
Catholics to evangelical and non-denominational Christians have gone so far as
to tell the Obama administration that if our chaplains cannot preach the Bible
– they will withdraw their chaplains from
military service!
You
see, the liberal media and the homosexual lobby are trying to use our nation's
military as a wedge to reverse the
Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) through military regulations.
What's
worse, Obama wants to muzzle those military chaplains who dare preach or
counsel the Biblical truth concerning homosexuality!
If
the Obama Administration is permitted to use our nation's military to allow
"gay marriages" to be performed on military bases, it will force the
question in states where the voters have banned this abomination. Obama is waging a ruthless war to the
finish against the religious liberties of America's military chaplains.
For
instance, the liberal media has done a splendid job at concealing from most
Americans the sort of gag orders America's chaplains will be forced to operate under:
• Should a chaplain advise a service member
in a Biblically-sound manner on how to deal with the implementation of "gays
in the military," and it is found to be offensive (to whom?), such a
chaplain can be written up, stripped of rank, and even discharged.
• Should a
chaplain find the new "gays in the military" policy offensive, new regulations stipulate the military will
advise the chaplain to find another line of work.
• Will chaplains be forced to marry two
same sex service members? What if that chaplain refuses?
• If a chaplain preaches from the Bible
about the sin of homosexuality, will he be punished?
• If a chaplain counsels a service member
that one should not confuse sexual preferences with identity, will this be
grounds for a dishonorable discharge?
Obama
is deliberately setting up a Catch-22. Not only will our military be FORCED to
accept this political kickback to Obama's homosexual allies, our chaplains will
be coerced into compliance -- or have their careers jeopardized, and even
RUINED! We are not going to let this happen.
Traditional Values Coalition is doing
everything possible to protect America's 237-year
military chaplaincy.
The
solution is simple: Representative Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) has put forward H.R. 914, the Military Religious Freedom Protection Act, sound
common-sense legislation that will bar any discrimination against America's military chaplains.
That's
why this National Petition in Support of
America's Military Chaplains is so absolutely critical, because H.R. 914
will protect our chaplains being punished for expressing sincerely held
Biblical beliefs.
We are marching up and down the halls of
power in Washington, ensuring
that the House and Senate Armed Services Committee ask some of the tough
questions above . . . but more must
be done!
TVC
needs more committed Christians just like you to support our National Petition in Support of America's
Military Chaplains alerting millions about the risks Obama's massive
homosexual social experiment poses, not only to America's military readiness, but to our chaplains as well.
Our concerns need to hit Congress like a
tidal wave if they are to protect our
religious freedoms and stop this overtly political gift to Obama's homosexual
boosters.
TVC
is busy organizing letters in support from specific congregations, from
individuals and getting more co-sponsors.
All
of this, including our National Petition
in Support of America's Military Chaplains, needs to be organized and
presented to members of the Mouse Armed Services Committee as a brass wall of
support for our military chaplains.
Traditional Values Coalition has been at
the forefront of this struggle,
meeting with members of Congress, shocked leaders, and countless family members
and worried chaplains
. .
. and with every meeting, every new story or concern, we are finding that more
and more leaders are shocked to know what Obama is really doing – and want to
stop Obama's assault.
We
can turn this back. The liberals are
scared of the work TVC is doing in Washington. They know the impact their
dangerous homosexual social experimentation will have on our military, and
these reckless liberals are willing to sacrifice the religious freedoms of the
many for the sexual preferences of a few.
But
we don't have much time. I need you to do two things right away if we are to be
successful:
FIRST, the cause of our chaplains needs
your prayers. I have seen prayer move
even the hardest of hearts. Please keep Traditional Values Coalition in your
prayers as we put on the full armor of God to stand up for those who sacrifice
their lives to defend our freedoms.
SECOND, I urgently need you to sign our
National Petition in Support of America's Military
Chaplains immediately, and if you can, send your rushed gift of $50 straight
away. A gift of $75 or even just $35
would be a tremendous blessing, and would allow us to do even more on the Hill,
put more House and Senate members on the spot, and get the tough questions
asked in committee!
Now
if a gift of $500, $150, $75 or even $55 is simply too much to give, please
know that your gift of $35 or even just $25 would be one more step towards
turning back Obama's machine of intolerance towards Christian chaplains and
service members.
It's not easy to be a Christian in
today's armed services. It is much
harder to carry the charge of maintaining the spiritual welfare of tens of
thousands of men and women in uniform. Can I count on you to help and sign our National Petition today?

Voice at the Capitol,

PS: REMEMBER
-- The religious liberties of America's military chaplains hang in the balance. Obama is
ready to threaten the religious freedoms of thousands of Bible-believing
Christians to make good on a campaign promise to homosexuals. With your
donation of $75, $35, or even just $25, we can put a dent in their plans and
protect the religious freedoms of our military chaplains!

TRADITIONAL VALUES
COALITION'S
NATIONAL PETITION IN SUPPORT
OF AMERICA'S MILITARY
CHAPLAINS
WHEREAS the
institution of the military chaplaincy was established and championed by General
George Washington to provide "the blessings and protection of Heaven"
for our nation and our armed services,
WHEREAS this
venerable institution is under direct threat by the Obama administration,
WHEREAS the
Obama administration has instructed the Department of Defense to allow
homosexuals and transgenders to openly serve in America's armed forces,
WHEREAS the
Obama administration has further chosen to regulate the free speech of military
chaplains, preventing them from preaching Biblically sound teaching regarding
homosexuality,
WHEREAS such
regulations are not only a violation of the rights of conscience, but a violation
of the religious freedoms of both our military chaplains and the men and women
who serve our nation's armed forces,
AND WHEREAS
our military chaplains are now being forced to choose between their Christian
faith and the military they serve,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I proudly and strongly support the Military Religious Freedom Protection Act
and urge members of Congress to support the conscience protections for military
chaplains within this bill.
