Dear True-Believing Pro-Life Friend,

This is bigger than you or me. It is certainly bigger than him. Ever since President Obama won re-election over a year ago, the media and the secular Left have not stopped celebrating.

They believe they have delivered a decisive blow against those of us who believe in "outdated" notions like the importance of traditional families . . . or the humanity of unborn babies or the idea that our rights come from God, not government.

In their heart of hearts, they are rejoicing, thinking that I am finally gone, that you are finally going to stop fighting for your beliefs, and that the issues you and I care about can finally be ignored. But they are wrong. Every one of them is dead wrong.

Because the cause of life – of protecting the God-given right to life – is bigger than one person or one election. And right now, little boys and girls in the womb are facing a grave threat: President Obama's planned expansion of taxpayer-funded abortion in all 50 states.

That is why all throughout 2014, I will be working with the Susan B. Anthony List – an aggressive grassroots pro-life group in Washington – supporting a nationwide petition project to pressure Congress and END taxpayer support for abortionists.

FIRST, right now in Washington, DC, there is an effort by the DC establishment to convince candidates that they should abandon "social issues" if they want to win.

Well I'm sorry, but a seven-month old boy living in his mom's womb is not an "issue," he's a human being. And after five years of Obama's pro-abortion ugliness, these precious babies need some help.

On top of that, evidence shows the pro-life position is more popular than it's been in decades. So any politician telling you there needs to be a "truce" on "social issues" is flat-out wrong.

SECOND, there are a lot of politicians in Congress who won their elections by claiming to be "pro-life." However, they should not be blindly trusted to follow through on that promise.

In fact, the reason we are stuck with ObamaCare (which is a huge expansion of abortion "rights") is because there were a lot of pro-life Democrats who abandoned their campaign pledges and fell in line with President Obama's orders. We cannot allow this to happen.

If someone tells voters during a campaign that he is pro-life, he'd better stick to that in Washington.

And an important action that Congress can take would be to eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood and any other "health" organization that specializes in killing babies.

A lot of people are surprised to know it, but the federal government spends hundreds of millions of dollars on abortion every single year.

As they wrangle in Washington over ways to cut the deficit, this should be an easy one. And it should be our first demand.

I trust pro-life leaders in Congress like Michele Bachmann, Steve King, Chris Smith and others to make this issue a priority.

→ A comprehensive direct mail and tele-communications program to mobilize millions of pro-life Americans to contact their elected officials and demand they stop using taxpayer money to fund Planned Parenthood.

All of this will help us force a series of public, roll-call votes on our (popular) legislation to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood and other abortionists.

The good news is that even if we fall short of passing these bills, we'll have all the politicians on record, and anyone who votes "YES" on taxpayer funded abortion will have to answer for it in November.

Whereas, American taxpayers are forced to subsidize organizations like Planned Parenthood, which promote, advocate for, and perform abortions;

Whereas, the vast majority of Americans agree that we should not be forced to pay for the taking of an innocent unborn life;

Whereas, the federal budget has run a deficit exceeding $1 trillion for each of the last four years. Politicians say we need to cut spending. If that is true, this is an opportunity to make a spending cut that the American people will approve of – and that will save the lives of innocent children;
