H.R. 247

Dear Patriot,

[2-2014 partial letter] ...[Request for and] return your signed H.R. 247, legislation that would protect you. If H. R. 247 is signed into law, future benefits will be protected. If H. R. 247 is forced through Congress this year, then all of the cuts that liberals seem intent on making will not affect you and other seniors...

And if H. R. 247 is implemented by conservative lawmakers, you and I will be a giant step closer to guaranteeing that our government pays out Social Security benefits...

Please use the [requested] enclosed PRO-EX envelope to rush your signed H. R. 247 to the NCGSS within the next 72 hours. I am asking for urgency – giving you a deadline, because every day that passes, your Social Security is more and more compromised.

Over the past few months, Barack Obama has continued to bring up the possibility of cuts to Social Security... even though members of his own Party have asked him to take cuts off the table.

Obama Administration officials continue to bring up cuts to Social Security as a possible 'necessity' and a way to bring down the federal deficit... despite the fact that conservative lawmakers are working around the clock to avoid cuts to benefits for all but the absolute wealthiest Americans.

H.R. 247 has been introduced on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives and there are five co-sponsors to the legislation. But for H. R. 247 to be enacted immediately, it will require a push from the American people – a push that is essential.

Because this legislation will not only protect you – it will also protect the brave men and women of our Armed Forces from being sacrificed because of a skyrocketing federal deficit.

Right now, Barack Obama seems to think that he can use America's seniors and the members of our Armed Forces as a sacrifice to pay for his expanded government. This is not an option – you are NOT a sacrifice.

That is why I was willing to spend funds on CERTIFIED MAIL as well as provide you with a PRO-EX Mailer for you to respond as quickly as possible.

I know! don't have to tell you the importance of your immediate response – all you need do is turn on a television, radio or open a newspaper to know that the future of Social Security is being decided NOW.

I need to keep your response secure and I needed to ensure that there would be absolutely no delay in my receiving your signed H. R. 247 – this legislation must be signed into LAW...  The moment you finish reading this letter – if you value your benefits, and you respect the men and women serving our nation, then I ask you to take the following urgent actions:

[Request for and] Sign H. R. 247 as a Citizen Co-sponsor to urge other Representatives to sign on Immediately,

Place that Legislation with your Authorized and Coded Reply in the provided PRO-EX envelope...

 Also include a generous donation to the National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security to help provide conservative legislators with the support needed to protect your benefits;

Mail your PRO-EX envelope WITHIN TWO DAYS so that it is received within 72 hours at NCGSS Headquarters.

Do you value your Social Security benefits? Are you tired of talks about the fiscal cliff, the skyrocketing deficit and things like Sequestration as an excuse to further cut your benefits? Do you want to see the members of the U.S. military protected from cuts to benefits, along with America's seniors?

If that is the case, then I am asking you to immediately [request for and] sign H. R. 247 ...because there is a push for further cuts to be implemented before the next round of debt reduction is to go into effect...

When I receive your signed Legislation, it will be forwarded immediately to the U S. House for action...  I plan on flooding Congressman Schweikert, the Bill's sponsor with support in the next 15 days.

But for that to occur, I need your generous $60 contribution to the National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security. H. R. 247 is the way to protect your benefits – but it will only protect you if signed into law before liberals take a butchers knife to your benefits.

Anxiously awaiting your support,

Matt Davies, Chairman

Legislation To Protect S.S. And Guarantee Benefits Is Put On A FAST TRAC For Passage!

Dear Patriot,

[1-2014 partial letter] ...The National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security is conducting a nation-wide initiative to ensure that the 113th Congress of the United States takes immediate and decisive action to protect Social Security from collapse.

We are working with other conservative organizations to fight to ensure that legislation to protect Social Security and guarantee benefits is put on a FAST TRAC for passage.

And... I want to show our conservative leadership in both the U.S. House and Senate that EVERY zip code would participate. I want there to be no doubt that this is a nation-wide initiative to demand action.

But... right now I cannot guarantee that... [your zip code] is represented powerfully and your Representatives provided with evidence.

As the Chairman of the National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security, I must make it clear to you – this is the year that the future of Social Security will be decided.

Right now, Social Security benefits are delivered to... [your zip code] on schedule as promised by our government. But... that could all change for future recipients very soon.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Social Security was like any other government program, comparing it to Welfare. That ruling made it clear to Congress that they could cut, eliminate or dissolve Social Security at any time, just like any other government program.

In recent years, there were moves made by Congress to possibly eliminate Social Security as we know it. With the establishment of a SuperCommittee, there was talk of 'redirecting' funds paid into Social Security to pay down the federal deficit...

...which would make the funding shortage even more apparent and hasten the collapse of the entire system. There was outrage at the suggestion. But... liberals refused to take the proposal off the table.

As it stands, the SuperCommittee was dissolved because they did not provide a solution for paying down the deficit. But the deficit has continued to explode out of control.

Chinese bankers are pressuring our government for repayment of the debt. And U.S. officials are getting desperate – once again demanding that Congress pull a rabbit out of a hat and come up with a solution.

The problem...? Aside from income taxes, Social Security provides the greatest influx of cash to our government. That's why for decades Congress has been dipping into the Social Security Trust Fund to use it for budget shortfalls, political paybacks and special "incentives" for home states.

But, the Social Security Trust Fund is now operating in the red – and workers paying into the system can no longer manage to keep the entire Social Security system afloat.

This is the year that Social Security will be decided... For that reason I am asking you to ensure that... [your zip code] is accounted for in this FAST TRAC initiative.

The National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security has promised that there would be 100% response from EVERY zip code in our nation. And, for the sake of Social Security, I must keep that promise.

I have directed National Campaign staff to separate the FAST TRAC initiatives by zip code, so that your specific response can be directed to your Representatives for action.

This initiative is simple. It directs the 113th Congress to:

1.  Enact legislation which would legally obligate the United States government to continue to pay Social Security benefits and keep the promise of Social Security;

2.  Enact legislation which would GUARANTEE existing benefits;

3.  Implement real structural reform, which would shore up the Social Security program so that it remains stable and solvent for future generations.

Because up until now, Congress has wanted a quick fix. And... the 1l3th Congress is no exception.

They are considering cutting benefits to [your zip code] and across the nation.

They are considering evaluating Income Tax Returns for every senior living in... [your zip code] to implement Means Testing and determine who "needs" Social Security.

And they are considering increasing Social Security taxes for workers in... [your zip code] to help cover the massive shortfall.

But experts agree that NONE of those measures would provide a solution. NONE of those measures would prevent the collapse of the Social Security system – in fact, those measures may actually make it easier for Congress to move towards dissolving the system entirely and using funds to pay down the debt.

Then they could argue that "reform" measures had been tried and nothing would fix the ailing system. But nothing could be farther from the truth.

Conservatives have proposed real reform measures that would guarantee existing benefits and give younger workers the security of knowing where their funds are and making sure no one can touch those funds.

But up until now, these measures have been blocked by liberals who want continued access to the Social Security Trust Fund as a way to pay for expanded government.

Please – if you value Social Security benefits and want to see them continue, then please [request for and] return... FAST TRAC initiative, along with your generous contribution... to support the NCGSS in the fight...

There is no more important fight on Capitol Hill this year than the fight to protect Social Security...

With gratitude for your commitment,

Matt Davies, Chairman

...Changes To Social Security Are Imminent

Dear Patriot,

[1-2014 partial letter] ...changes to Social Security are imminent. That is why I am issuing this Follow Up Addendum to the Annual Report, reiterating key points as well as supplying you with additional information that could affect benefits over the next year... We want you to be informed.

Right now seniors benefits will remain unaltered. I hate to think of seniors benefits being affected in any way, but as Director of the National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security, it is my job to anticipate what changes Congress might make and do whatever I can to keep you informed and protect you.

Again, let me brief you quickly on the changes that have already occurred in the Social Security program. Social Security did not pay out Cost-of-Living Adjustments (COLA) in 2010 and 2011, and in 2012 and 2013 those COLA increases were entirely eaten up by increases to Medicare premiums.

For the third time in a generation, our government failed to provide America's seniors with COLA increases to keep up with the rate of inflation. It is bad enough when COLA increases are not given, but now more than ever, the consequences have been beyond dire.

Under President Barack Obama's failed economic policies, there have been record number of foreclosures and bankruptcies and housing values have plummeted.

With the bottom falling out of the Wall Street stock markets, Americans have watched 401(k) accounts dwindle and investments take major losses. This is the time that Social Security was needed more than ever before.

In 2010 Social Security began operating in the red, meaning more people are collecting benefits than are paying into the system.

But the news got even worse because fewer people are now paying into the system – with an increase in unemployment of 20% under Barack Obama, there are fewer people who are paying payroll taxes that feed into the Social Security system... meaning that Social Security is headed towards bankruptcy far sooner than it was prior to Barack Obama's presidency.

What's more, the Social Security COLA, usually puts a cap on premiums for Part B of Medicare, covering doctor's services – since most seniors pay for Part B directly out of their Social Security checks. Part B eats up any COLA.

About 3/4 of Social Security beneficiaries did not see a change to their basic Part B premiums – but 1/4 of beneficiaries did. They faced substantial increases in their Part B premiums.

This is occurring at the same time that premiums for Medicare Part D were increased by the drug companies to offset the cost of impending health care reforms. And Medicare's hospital insurance trust fund is rapidly deteriorating because of the recession.

Since payroll tax revenues pay for Medicare's hospital insurance trust fund – the loss of tax revenues is hitting the hospital insurance trust fund hard.

With the massive expansion of government under President Barack Obama, Congress is once again looking to Social Security to pay some of the expected 1.7 TRILLION to implement the Affordable Health Care Act, or ObamaCare.

What this means is that you can expect more cuts to your Medicare. It is likely that the cuts in Medicare reimbursements to doctors and hospitals will go through – despite protests.

And Congress is likely to revisit shaving off of Social Security, through increasing the age of collecting Social Security benefits, cuts to benefits or establishing "means testing" as a way to divert some of the cash coming in to pay down the federal deficit.

Social Security began operating in the red in 2010 and now that red is only bleeding deeper – now threatening the future of the entire program. I know that this Report is bad news – that is why it was critical that you be informed about what is occurring.

As Director of the National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security, it is my duty to keep you informed about status changes in your Social Security and Medicare and issue any necessary warnings to protect you and every American...

The National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security is on the verge of pushing real reform through Congress – because people like you...

With gratitude for your commitment,

Matt Davies, Chairman

CONGRESSIONAL PLEDGE TO GUARANTEE SOCIAL SECURITY

Dear Patriot,

[12-2013 partial letter] I am tired of politics. I am exhausted by slick politicians lying and abusing the trust of America's seniors. And I am disgusted by all the backroom dirty deals and manipulations to stay in power. Enough is enough... Conservative. Liberal. I don't care.

I am doing battle with anyone who has:

Betrayed their commitment to Social Security and looked the other way as Washington walked away from its commitment to America's seniors.

Drained the Social Security Trust Fund for their own political gain, leaving you and all America's seniors without security.

Destroyed America's ability to provide and protect its senior citizens by making drastic cuts in spending.

That means I want the United States Treasury to guarantee your Social Security. That means that I want no more lies, no more threats, and no more foreign interests when it comes to your Social Security.

And that means that I want any Representative or Senator who has refused to protect and guarantee Social Security to know that you will no longer tolerate that betrayal. No excuses.

That's why I am asking you to sign the [requested] enclosed Congressional Demand [CONGRESSIONAL PLEDGE TO GUARANTEE SOCIAL SECURITY] that your two United States Senators and Representative here in Washington guarantee your right to your Social Security.

Do you want your Representative and Senator to publicly state that your Social Security is now for the first time guaranteed by the United States Treasury?

Do you want your Representative and Senators to move towards finally ending the threats against your Social Security?

And finally, do you want your Representative and two U.S. Senators to step forward in defense of your rights and benefits? I hope you just said yes because your future will depend on the answer to that crucial question...

Your CONGRESSIONAL PLEDGE TO GUARANTEE SOCIAL SECURITY demands that your two United States Senators and Congressman live up to their Constitutional duty and grant you the benefits and security you have been promised.

Your call to action is crucial to the National Campaign to Guarantee Social Security.

For all too long America's seniors have let Wall Street bankers and Chinese money lenders dictate American economic policy. And at every turn America's seniors are the ones who are asked to sacrifice, to cut back and do with out.

But not this time. Now you and I must stand together and demand for the first time that Washington no longer plays politics with our Social Security.

So here is what you must do to guarantee your Social Security once and for all.

I need you to [request for and] sign your CONGRESSIONAL PLEDGE TO GUARANTEE SOCIAL SECURITY. I intend to have your pledge circulated to all the United States Senators that must help in this crucial battle. And you must be a part of this battle.

So please, do not hesitate and do not linger in this once in a lifetime battle to guarantee our Social Security. It is of the utmost importance that I hear back from you as the battle to guarantee your Social Security is now coming down to the wire here in Washington.

Thank you and God bless you,

Matt Davies, Chairman

Dear Trusted Friend,

[10-2013] ...2013 is the year that Social Security will either be reformed or destroyed. 2013 is the year that Congress will finally be backed into a corner and made to answer for Social Security. And 2013 is the year that future Social Security could either be dismantled or used to pay down debts to foreign creditors... or action will be taken to keep the promise made by our government...

After all, a member of the Obama Administration actually was quoted in the media as saying that our government is under no legal obligation to pay out Social Security benefits. And this Administration refused to take Social Security off the table as a possible solution for paying down the federal deficit... despite massive protests from members of their own Party...

Right now everything is at stake -- the Social Security Trust Fund will start going bankrupt in 2013... $8.6 TRILLION must be added to the Trust Fund to cover projected shortfalls over the next 75 years -- or 10.7 times the total income for Social Security income in 2011...

[NCGSS needs support to continue their efforts to guarantee Social Security (P.O. Box 97157, Washington, D.C. 20090-7157).]
