Dear Louisianian,

Washington is a joke but nobody in Louisiana is laughing. I am a Louisiana conservative who is committed to immediate, bold, significant and sweeping change that restores the federal government to the original intent of our Founding Fathers.

We need limited government and unlimited opportunity, and the Big Government Liberals in Washington have it backward. There are 128 lawyers in the United States House of Representatives and 55 professional politicians, but I am neither.

I am a Navy veteran, a Louisiana physician with nearly forty years of experience, and a businessman. I ran for Congress not because I wanted to, but because I had to. My wife Cindy and I have four grown children and three growing grandchildren, and we are worried sick about the direction President Obama is taking this country and the impact it will have on the future of our family and yours.

Louisianians are conservative and so am I. I am one of the most conservative members of the 435-member United States House of Representatives and from the town meetings I have held across our state, that level of conservatism fits our state to a "T."

I am looking for a few good Louisiana conservatives to join my campaign and help me raise the funds for the tough campaign ahead. Your generous help will mean the world to me. Louisianian, your "Fleming for Congress" contribution of $35, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $1,500 or even $2,600 will help us run the best door-to-door, neighbor-to-neighbor campaign Louisianians have ever seen.

Let's talk for a moment about the issues that matter most to you. A lot of Louisianians are mad, frustrated and worried about ObamaCare, and they should be. We need to rip this nightmare of a bill out by its roots because it strips Americans of their freedom of choice in the most important area of their lives: their family's personal health. It is Exhibit A of President Obama's liberal vision for America where Washington calls the shots, keeps the score, and dominates every facet of our lives.

The Federal Government is the last thing that should be taking over a vast swath of our economy but it is doing it. And just as you and I predicted would happen, every single promise that President Obama made to us has vanished in the wind.

·          Americans who like their current health insurance won't necessarily be able to keep it.

·          Premiums are not going down, they are going way up.

·          Taxes are going up to the tune of a trillion dollars.

·          The debt is not shrinking because of ObamaCare; it will skyrocket.

·          Many employers will not be able to afford to provide coverage for their employees under ObamaCare and will end that benefit.

·          New taxes will drive medical innovators out of business.

·          It expands the ability of the dreaded I.R.S. to pry into your personal information.

Worst of all, ObamaCare changes the way healthcare operates, from a patient and doctor-centered system to one in which unelected bureaucrats are in charge of your most personal decisions.

ObamaCare should be repealed in its entirety and I am on a mission to do it. It never should have been passed and I am going to do everything a Louisiana conservative can do to stop it.

Being outspoken ...

Taking on President Obama's signature issue and the vaunted Obama Machine ...

Incurring the wrath of Nancy Pelosi's Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee ...

I know the National Democrats are joining forces with the Liberal Super PACs and Big Government Labor Unions to defeat me next time.

Because my first race in 2008 was so close (I only won by 350 votes), the Democrats have painted a bright red target on my back. I run the risk of being subjected to millions of dollars in hateful, lying attack ads. I am counting on your help to survive the onslaught.

Please use the [requested] reply form with your name and the return envelope that bears my name to rush your "Fleming for Congress" contribution of $35, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $1,500 or even $2,600. Or you can make a secure online contribution at .

Your generous contribution will be invested in yard signs and bumper stickers so Louisianians know my name, as well as targeted letters and issue-specific commercials so they know that I am an unwavering conservative who will lead the charge for lean and limited government.

My record is as conservative as yours would be if you represented Louisiana in Congress.

I am:

·          Pro-life;

·          Pro-free enterprise;

·          Against higher taxes;

·          Committed to a new Tax Code that is simpler, flatter, fairer and written in English;

·          100% behind a Balanced Budget Amendment with teeth;

·          Against waste, pork, boondoggles and crony capitalism;

·          A veteran of the Navy who supports a strong national defense; and

·          All for high fences and secure borders to protect our national sovereignty.

In a nutshell, I am taking my conservative Louisiana values and common sense to Washington, D.C. where they are in short supply and doing all I can to cut government down to size so that it is not in your face, in your business, in your life and in your doctor's examination room.

In town meetings and listening posts I have held all over our state, veterans, seniors, restaurant owners, factory workers, fishermen, sportsmen, churchgoers, teachers, truck drivers, homeschooling parents, nurses, accountants and others tell me they are fed up with Big Government.

Washington spends too much and takes too much.

It regulates too much and wastes too much.

It promotes Al Gore's politically correct green energy at the expense of oil and gas.

Too many Louisianians are out of work because Washington is blocking the way to the kind of robust economic growth and prosperity we need. They are playing Washington Games when they should be doing the People's Business.

You'd better believe I am going to stand strong in defense of our Constitution, our entrepreneurs and our military personnel, and the small business owners who drive economic growth. And I am going to stand strong against ObamaCare, that monstrosity of a bill.

If you didn't know it before, I don't trust President Obama. He reads his slick speeches from a teleprompter but he makes promises he doesn't keep, and he picks and chooses the laws he wants to obey and enforce, and the ones he doesn't.

He was elected in 2008 and so was I. That is the only thing we have in common. I am as conservative as he is liberal and I believe as much in the wisdom of Louisianians as he believes in an all-knowing Washington.

As you must know, the Washington Establishment Liberals don't like conservatives and they have a special hatred for outspoken conservatives like me. The lying attack ads have already started and there are more on the way.

In my hour of need, I am turning to the conservative champions who share my deep and enduring belief in the limited government, pro-free enterprise principles that have never let us down.

You have got more clout than the Obama Liberals give you credit for, Louisianian. With your mighty checkbook and your Fleming for Congress contribution, you will provide the financial firepower that will lift me to victory against the Obama Political Machine.

Your personal check for $35, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $1,500 or even $2,600 buys the yard signs and bumper stickers, parade pieces and door-to-door brochures, walking lists and phone banks, targeted letters and 30-second radio spots, internet ads and most important of all, the TV ads that carry my conservative message far and wide.

Louisianians have had their fill of Big Government. They need to know that I will vote, work, fight and lead for the conservative limited government principles that will get our economy growing again. And I need to know, Louisianian, that you will stand by my side in the face of the liberal onslaught of dirty tricks, nasty ads, lying letters and cruel personal attacks.

Do me the honor of joining our conservative crusade with your "Fleming for Congress" check for $35 or $2,600 or any amount in between. Our goal is to raise $31,500 in the next 15 days and with your good help I know we will do it.

I also know with the stakes this high and the potential for hundreds of attack ads raining down on my head I need your help to win, Louisianian.

Sincerely yours,

John Fleming, M.D.

Congressman for Louisiana

P.S. Every day in Congress I fight as hard as I know how for smaller government, less spending, lower taxes, fewer regulations, protecting life, defending our Constitution, energy independence and a national defense ready to meet the challenges of a dangerous world. I am a leader in the battle to end ObamaCare. Louisianian, Washington is far worse than I ever imagined and I am on a mission to change it. In what may be a very tough and expensive campaign, I need your generous help to win. Will you help me with a contribution of $35. $50. $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $1,500 or even $2,600?
