2014 FILE CARD PROGRAM

"2014 COULD BE A MAKE OR BREAK YEAR FOR SOCIAL SECURITY. SAME GRIDLOCK IN WASHINGTON D.C. MORE BATTLES OVER THE BUDGET. BENEFIT CUTS ARE BEING LOUDLY ADVOCATED. DC's WILD SPENDING AND TRUST FUND "RAID" MUST END!"

STOP BENEFIT CUTS... STOP THE RAID... GIVE SENIORS A COLA!

AVERAGE SPENT FROM TRUST FUND PER YEAR, 2006-2012: $129 BILLION

AVERAGE SPENT FROM TRUST FUND PER YEAR, 1968-1999: $25.96 BILLION

That's why your signed Petition and File Card are urgently needed to put Congress on notice that Seniors will not tolerate this ongoing and worsening abuse of our retirement system.

Dear Friend,

Would you please review and sign the enclosed File Card and Petition and return them to me right away?

The news about Social Security has only worsened. With President Barack Obama's continued push on domestic issues, Seniors must apply pressure on the Congress right now!...

That's why in our ongoing Campaign to Save Social Security, your File Card and Petition are vital!

Your Petition urges your members of the 113th Congress to stop the abuse of the Trust Fund; second, to ensure Seniors have a permanent and guaranteed Cost of Living Adjustment, unlike 2010 and 2011, when Seniors received no COLA at all.

With your support, hundreds of thousands of petitions have been delivered in support of these important measures.

It's important that you also participate in our File Card record program.

Please review your name and address on this special File Card to verify its accuracy. This will ensure your Petition gets processed and delivered accurately. Then, return it with your signed Petition.

You see, every Congress has "raided" the Social Security Trust Fund to finance pork barrel projects and other unrelated government spending – for a total of $3.25 TRILLION since 1968.

You and many other Seniors paid special government taxes so that your money would be RESERVED and PROTECTED to pay current and future benefits!

In recent years, Congress has "raided" more money than in any period in history. Each year, Congress spent every surplus dollar in the Trust Fund, no matter the amount.

2012:        $62.0 Billion

2011:        $67.0 Billion

2010:        $87.0 Billion

2009:      $137.0 Billion

2008:      $180.2 Billion

2007:      $186.5 Billion

2006:      $185.5 Billion

Average Spent From Trust Fund Per Year, 1968 to 1999: $25.96 BILLION. Average Spent From Trust Fund Per Year, 2006 to 2012: $129 BILLION.

That's why your signed Petition and File Card are urgently needed to put Congress on notice that Seniors will not tolerate this [ongoing and] worsening abuse of Social Security [retirement system].

The problem with Social Security isn't Seniors or the size of our benefits – it's Congress and their "raid" of the Trust Fund that threatens our future benefits!

This Petition also demands that Congress fix another problem it has LONG IGNORED: Your unfair and too low annual Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment.

A Senior COLA law will provide a fairer and larger annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) based on Seniors' unique buying needs.

Right now, the government calculates your COLA using a formula that doesn't fully measure the increased cost of goods more frequently used by Seniors.

The serious impact of the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs, health care and insurance – items that Senior Citizens depend on more than any other age group – is UNDER-ESTIMATED by the current COLA formula.

The result? Your benefits are failing to keep pace with your cost of living – and many seniors are feeling the pinch. Congress must STOP IGNORING this problem and take ACTION!

I promise to provide the leadership needed to combat these problems. Will you do your part today by taking these actions?

***    Review the enclosed File Card. Please verify the accuracy of the information on it and make any corrections directly on the card.

***    Sign and return the enclosed Petition to me. It urges Congress to support and pass the Lockbox Law and the Senior COLA Bill in the 113th Congress.

***    Make a special contribution to help fund our campaign. We don't accept any government funds or subsidies. This allows us to be your independent voice on Capitol Hill, but it also means we must rely on individual, non-governmental contributions to fund our programs.

Some friends will contribute $10 or $15; others will contribute more or less. I urge you to contribute the amount that's right for you since every dollar helps.

Your contribution TODAY will help us collect at least 50,000 signatures for our Petition drive, contact thousands more Social Security recipients so they can join our fight, strengthen our grassroots campaign, and help with the cost of lobbying Congress directly.

Will you include a check or money order for $20, $15, or $10 with your File Card and signed Petition? I appreciate your support.

Yours in Service,

Jack Klimp

P.S. Please sign and return to me your signed Petition. I urge you to also review the enclosed File Card for accuracy. Please return it with your signed Petition. I hope to collect 25,000 signatures by March 14th.

2014 could be a MAKE or BREAK year for Social Security. Political deal-making only postpones tough choices. Your future benefits at risk, your signed petition is needed to apply pressure on the 113th Congress right now!

I also urge you to help out with a special contribution to fund this File Card and Petition program. Thank you!

[Please request for File Card and Petition, which "urges Congress to [Stop The Raid,] support and Pass the Lockbox Law and the Senior COLA Bill in the 113th Congress (CSSSM, P.O. Box 98068, Washington D.C. 20090-8068)!]
