"Gun Owners Whip Count"

Dear Freedom Supporter,

[12-2013 letter] I'm writing to you today because Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) is conducting an official "Gun Owners Whip Count" to find out exactly where law-abiding gun owners and freedom loving Americans like you stand on new proposed federal anti-gun laws.

Senators Harry Reid (D-NV), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) along with Congresswomen Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) and Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) have introduced and co-sponsored a number of new anti-gun rights bill that if they become the law will destroy gun shows, ban most gun magazines and feeding devices, as well as change how you buy and sell and store your firearms. You could even end up in jail!

These bills are a wish-list of anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment proposals... AND THEY NOW HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED AND SIT IN COMMITTEE IN THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES and U.S. SENATE!

In the U.S. Congress and state legislatures, the "Whip" is a member who keeps track of how people plan to vote on pending legislation so their party's leaders can plan an effective strategy for passing or opposing it.

The CCRKBA is conducting this official "Gun Owners Whip Count" today because all this legislation has become the rallying point for the anti-gun movement as we enter an important presidential election cycle. We need to know if gun owners are united and focused in defense of our freedom.

There's an old saying, "Before you worry about what your opponents are doing, find out where your friends stand."

That's why I'm asking you to use the [requested] enclosed reply forms to let the CCRKBA know whether you are AGAINST all this new gun legislation, or you are FOR these far-reaching gun control and magazine ban bills... (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

I've only given you two choices because there is no middle ground. These new bills are not about stopping criminals or reducing crime. They have only one purpose — to ban your gun rights, and make you a criminal and send you to prison if you do not comply with the legislative mandates...

The gun ban extremists are promoting these bills as popular, needed measures that their "polls" show even law-abiding gun owners support... And that's why we would have to interpret a failure to respond to this Whip Count as a vote FOR new anti-gun rights legislation.

THERE IS NO REASON TO SIT BY IDLY WHILE YOUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS ARE IN SERIOUS DANGER OF BEING DESTROYED.

Especially when the debate over these bills is growing more intense every day. These bills would make magazines that hold more than 10 rounds illegal, force you to store your firearms so you could not use them for self-protection [bill introduced by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee], and put gun shows out of business [anti-gun legislation introduced by Senator Schumer and Congresswoman McCarthy].

Further, if a minor obtains a firearm -- even by stealing it -- and injures someone with it, the owner of the firearm could face a multiple-year jail sentence.

Now in a critical post-presidential election cycle, it's clear that the anti-gun extremists will do or say anything to turn these bills and the fight over the right to keep and bear arms into a major legislative issue.

So get ready for a non-stop barrage by anti-gun activists, the politicians who support their cause and biased media elite, loudly beating the drum for passage of new federal gun control and ban laws!

And let's face facts, we only have a few brave pro-gun Members of Congress who have the strength of conviction to publicly take on the anti-gunners and their shrill, emotional tactics.

To fill this void, the CCRKBA is leading the effort to counter this aggressive anti-gun onslaught. We are fighting hard to expose the anti-gun lies and encouraging every law-abiding gun owner to — Before it's too late!

That's why we need you to take part in this Whip Count and send your financial support to CCRKBA today.

So will you stand on the sidelines and watch, or will you come forward and join in the defense of your freedoms? Your answer to this Gun Owners Whip Count will let us know.

Before you sign and return your Gun Owners Whip Count form, let me give you a few of the raw details about these twisted proposals so you can make an informed decision.

Top anti-gun rights Democrats are calling for re-examination of every single one of our nation's so-called "lax" gun laws to make sure we don't get to exercise our Second Amendment Rights. anti-gun groups will be holding meetings in Washington to strategize and execute what could be the most comprehensive gun law overhaul yet!

This overhaul would allow numerous other gun control restrictions as well. These bills will be used like a Christmas tree to hang gun control and ban ornaments on.

So far this year anti-gun Senators and Representatives have introduced over 50 gun-grabbing bills! They range from gun and magazine> ban, national licensing and registration schemes to restrictions on your ammunition purchases (1, 2, 3).

Despite the fact that some of these bills have already defeated, these politicians, with the help of President Barack Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, are planning a second bite at the apple.

All this terrible legislation is a blank check for the gun ban crowd to go after you and your gun rights. And Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee introduced a bill that limits how you defend yourself from criminal attack by making you store your gun so you can't use it and if a child gets their hands on it the legislation will even put you in prison!

Other anti-gun legislation introduced by Senator Schumer and Congresswoman McCarthy and supported by scores of House and Senate members slice and dice your rights from how you buy and sell and store your firearms to putting gun shows out of business to even putting you in jail!

These are just a few of the provisions of these bills that would destroy the Second Amendment rights of millions of law-abiding gun owners today, while effectively wiping out the rights of future generations as it causes firearms to become less and less available and affordable.

Of course, there is no question in my mind where I feel every law-abiding gun owner should stand on all this legislation — firmly against these right-restricting, gun grabbing bills.

Passage of any one of them would certainly be the beginning of the end of your Second Amendment rights — and a huge step towards a total effective ban of all firearms!

That's why I believe — YOU AND EVERY FREEDOM LOVING AMERICAN GUN OWNER MUST MAKE A CHOICE ABOUT WHERE YOU STAND.

So please immediately return either your red reply form AGAINST these Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Carolyn McCarthy, and Sheila Jackson Lee bills or your green reply form indicating you are FOR these massive new gun control and ban schemes and return your response to CCRKBA in the pre-addressed envelope provided.
