PASS A "FLAT TAX" [S. 173] and FIRE THE I.R.S.!

Thursday Morning

My Dear Friend,

Washington is cheating you. For decades, tax-and-spend politicians in Washington have used a tax code that is impossible to understand, too easy for greedy Politicians to manipulate, and allows DC insiders to decide who pays and who doesn't.

My friend, I am thrilled to FINALLY be able to say these words to you: Now that the American People -- even some who voted for Barack Obama -- are seeing that he lied when he said he wasn't raising their taxes, WE MAY FINALLY HAVE THE VOTES ON CAPITOL HILL TO PASS A "FLAT TAX" and FIRE THE I.R.S.!!! But we must act immediately!

The Obama Administration has overreached on taxes -- to the point that any Democrat who wants to keep his job may be willing to take drastic action to separate him or herself from the blatant tax grab in Washington.

My friend, Americans for Tax Reform is ready to do something that should have been done a long time ago . . . GET RID OF THE I.R.S. AND THE OVER-COMPLICATED, CONFISCATORY AND UNFAIR TAX SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS HALF OF AMERICA'S POPULATION TO FREELOAD OFF OF THOSE OF US WHO WORK, SACRIFICE AND SAVE.

This is an opportunity that we cannot let slip away. This could finally be the time to do something that ATR has been working on behind the scenes for more than 10 years in Washington:

PASS THE FLAT TAX

Unlike the I.R.S.'s current red-tape nightmare, the flat tax is very simple: ALL TAXPAYERS PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE -- NO MORE, NO LESS.

Most FLAT TAX proposals out there feature a flat rate of around 20% for all taxpayers -- Not more than 50% for some and 0% for others! That means:

**      No more 50% rates to punish you for working hard all your life.

**      No more Death Tax.

**      No more crossing your fingers waiting to see if a "tax-and-spend" Congress or a corrupt president will decide to raise your taxes just to "redistribute" more of your money to others to pander for their votes.

**      No more need for an expensive accountant to "do your taxes" -- YOUR ENTIRE TAX RETURN WILL BE ONE SMALL INDEX CARD THAT YOU MAIL IN!

**      No Capital Gains Taxes on money you've already paid taxes on once!

**      No more double taxation on money you've saved over the years in your retirement accounts.

As you can see, the Flat Tax is fair, easy to figure out, and takes the weapon of taxes out of the hands of politicians once and for all.

Without pitting the taxPAYERS against the NONpayers, never again will a politician like Barack Obama rise to power by dividing the American People against each other. So two questions remain:

1.       How do we get the Flat Tax passed?

2.       What does this letter have to do with any of this?

I'm glad you asked... Barack Obama lied about raising taxes, and everybody is quickly realizing it. This could finally be our chance to rally taxpayers from all walks of life and from both sides of the political aisle to get rid of the I.R.S. once and for all.

Here is why now is the time to act -- because we've never had what we have right now:

1.       Enough public outrage over the lies about taxes to force many members of Congress to vote for a Flat Tax who never would otherwise -- they're scared to death of losing their jobs in 2014.

2.       The timing of the upcoming mid-term elections to FORCE Congress to finally do what their constituents are telling them to --  and getting rid of the I.R.S. is near the top of EVERY taxpayer's list right now.

My friend, there's never been a better time to finally pass a Flat Tax. In fact, the Congressional Bill instituting a Flat Tax, S. 173, has already been introduced in the U.S. Senate. That leads in to my second question, which is how this is related to this letter -- and to you.

My friend, for better or worse, I am very well known on Capitol Hill. When I walk into the room, Congress knows the conversation is going to quickly turn to taxes. And believe me, every member knows where I stand.

But today, those members don't just need to hear from me -- they need to hear from you. So please -- no matter what else you accomplish today -- PLEASE [request for and] sign your PASS THE FLAT TAX Petition and rush it back to me here at Americans for Tax Reform.

We have already collected more than 500,000 Petitions, but we must have more shipped to Capitol Hill. And with the elections just around the corner, we cannot take too long to get more Petitions printed, sent out, collected and added to the pile.

That brings me to a special favor I must ask of you today. When you sign and rush your PASS THE FLAT TAX Petition back to ATR, will you also send along a special, one-time gift of $35?

This opportunity won't last very long. The media will not report Barack Obama's lies about raising taxes, and they have a way of making people forget missteps by this administration very quickly.

A key component of winning this battle is getting this Legislation through Congress before they have a chance to cover Obama's tracks on these massive tax increases!

Imagine next year at tax time doing your taxes by taking 5 minutes to fill out an index card and dropping it in the mailbox!

Imagine knowing exactly what you owe before you make a single financial decision in the following year!

And imagine taking the weapon of taxes out of the hands of corrupt Washington politicians who use them to pander for votes from some and to steal from others!

Imagine how much better off our country will be when ALL Americans REALLY DO PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE -- instead only those of us who worked harder than anyone else being ordered by Washington to pay the bills of those too lazy to work.

With the Flat Tax in place . . . Your savings and investments will be safe . . .

Greedy politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid won't be able to break into line in front of your children to take what you intend to leave to them when you pass on . . . And you and I will keep more of what we've earned!

But mark my words: The politicians who stand to lose their power over us do not want to pass this critical legislation!

Now you know why I need to make sure that we don't let this opportunity slip away. I believe we can help pass the Flat Tax before the mid-term elections -- but I'll need your help.

Do you want to keep more of your money? Hand down your family heirlooms, home and prized possessions to your children?

If so, here's your chance to FINALLY have your voice heard in Washington. Please take these two important steps right now:

1.       Sign your PASS THE FLAT TAX Petition.

2.       Rush it back to Americans for Tax Reform in the special pre-addressed envelope I've sent for you to use along with as much as you can afford to send today -- whether that be the $35 recommended contribution, or as much as $50, $100, $250, $500 or even $1,000 or more.

Thank you for standing with ATR to pass the Flat Tax now. Please answer my letter as soon as possible, because we may never get another chance like this in our lifetime.

Sincerely,

Grover Norquist, President

Americans for Tax Reform

P.S.    I've been waiting to send this letter for 20 years, my friend. I was starting to wonder if I'd ever see the day when circumstances in Washington might make passing the Flat Tax a reality.

My friend, that day is here. We cannot miss this opportunity. Please join me and Americans for Tax Reform -- help us fire the I.R.S., and take the power of taxation out of the hands of Barack Obama and the tax-and-spend liberals who have buried our country in debt -- and our people in new and higher taxes.

To help, please rush your PASS THE FLAT TAX Petition back right away -- along with your best gift of $35, $50, $100, $250, $500 or even $1,000 or more contribution.

We -- and America -- are counting on you today.

Dear Grover,

I will not stand on the sidelines while you, and thousands of my neighbors, fight the battle to get rid of the I.R.S. and PASS THE FLAT TAX once and for all.

I will help!! To join the battle to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime chance to pass the Flat Tax, I have signed my PASS THE FLAT TAX Petition below, and am rushing it back to you today with my best gift of:

(Sample)

PASS THE FLAT TAX

A Petition to the 11311 Congress of the United States of America

Whereas,           The complexity and subjective nature of current U.S. Tax Code is being used as a mechanism of political manipulation and control over the American People

And Whereas,   A "FLAT TAX" will ensure equality, fairness and increased revenue in the tax code,

And Whereas,   The dissolution of the Internal Revenue Service alone will save our Government more than $12.5 BILLION per year,

And Whereas,   The potential for enough votes to pass this critical new Tax System IS FINALLY A REALITY IN WASHINGTON,

Therefore,          I, an American taxpayer sick and tired of paying more and more taxes while practically half of our population pays NOTHING, I urge you to vote "YES" on legislation to PASS THE FLAT TAX!!

TAXPAYER'S SURVEY

Tuesday Morning

9:22 Eastern Daylight Time

Dear Fellow Taxpayer,

I'm writing to you from Washington, D.C. where YOUR voice is sorely missing on an issue that affects you personally -- YOUR TAXES. I've taken it upon myself to make sure your voice IS heard.

I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions about where you stand, and then ask you to rush your answers back right away. In fact, I've already taken the liberty of printing up a TAXPAYER'S SURVEY in your name. I hope you'll complete it and return it today.

There are only five questions and they're very simple, so I don't expect you'll have trouble filling it out. For example, Question #1 is:

Do you support abolishing the role of the IRS by replacing the complicated and burdensome tax code with a simple Flat Tax?

-- Or --

Do you prefer the complicated and burdensome tax code we currently have?.

Please let me know your answers to this and just four other quick questions by taking less than 2 minutes out of your day to fill out the enclosed TAXPAYER'S SURVEY, and then rush your answers back to me in the Direct-to-DC Envelope I've provided.

My name is Grover Norquist, and I'm President of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) . We're one of the most powerful pro-taxpayer groups in Washington, and it's 100% thanks to the generous and loyal support of friends like you all over the country.

Here at Americans for Tax Reform, we work for YOU -- the American taxpayer who is largely unrepresented in Washington these days.

My friend, the IRS is out of control in Washington -- and thanks to the recent scandals, EVERYONE KNOWS IT!

It is also becoming crystal clear that simply getting rid of the current bunch of corrupt bureaucrats and replacing them with new ones won't help . . . MAJOR CHANGES ARE LONG OVERDUE TO THE WAY THE IRS OPERATES AND HOW IT IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THE AMERICAN TAXPAYERS!

My friend, this could be our best chance in decades to make significant changes to the tax code. I'm seeing more and more people every day -- from both sides of the aisle -- stand up to say that the IRS has long outlived its usefulness in its current form.

And it is becoming more and more clear that this out-of-control bureaucracy should NEVER get their hands on our healthcare.

Please, fill out your TAXPAYER'S SURVEY right away to let me know where you stand. The enclosed Direct-to-DC Envelope will rush your answers straight back to me in Washington, where your input is badly needed.

Take it from me -- the politicians in Washington would like to forget that taxpayers like you even have an opinion. They'd much rather just think of you and me as faceless piggy banks for their big-spending Washington agenda.

But with your help, ATR won't let them forget! With your help, we'll force Washington to be accountable to US! But I can only do that if you tell me where you stand on your TAXPAYER'S SURVEY.

Personally, I think taxes should be low, flat, fair and honest . . . and I know I'm not alone in saying that until we have some answers, the IRS can NOT be trusted to administrate our healthcare through ObamaCare.

Anything would be better than what we are seeing right now -- an out of control, politically motivated bureaucracy with no limits on power overseeing a tax code that is a complicated, unfair and expensive mess.

It's complicated!       Current tax forms take hours to complete, even longer to understand, and it's almost impossible to get a straight answer from the IRS. Far too many ordinary Americans are forced to live in fear of an IRS audit.

It's unfair!                 Wealthy Americans and giant corporations use high-powered lawyers and lobbyists to find and create tax loopholes that are unavailable to you or me. And almost half of the American People don't pay any taxes at all!

It's expensive!            The web of IRS bureaucracy costs American taxpayers hundreds of millions per year. And that doesn't even count the millions we spend hiring professional tax preparers and accountants.

It's corrupt!               From limiting the free speech of groups leading up to the elections, to the millions spent on luxurious conferences, the administrators of this disgraceful agency must go -- they cannot be entrusted with the role reserved for them in ObamaCare.

Don't you agree that the current tax system is broken and needs an overhaul? If so, I hope you'll say so on your TAXPAYER'S SURVEY today. Washington needs your urgent input on a number of tax matters:

***    The Death Tax -- should it be 35%, 40% or scrapped completely?

***    The Income Tax -- should we replace our current "progressive" income tax with an across-the-board, lower Flat Tax?

***    Corporate Taxes -- should we eliminate lobbyist-installed loopholes for businesses with cozy connections to government, like "green energy" giant Solyndra and others?

***    ObamaCare -- should we really stand by while the IRS continues to grow in size and reach over our lives by hiring an army of new agents to implement Obama's socialized healthcare scheme?

These questions and more await your answers on the TAXPAYER'S SURVEY I've printed up in your name and enclosed with this letter.

Won't you please share your opinions with me? With your input in-hand, Americans for Tax Reform can show the politicians in Washington how Americans really feel about taxes.

Remember, these politicians want to ignore your opinion. This survey will make sure they hear you -- LOUD AND CLEAR! You see,  ATR is very well-respected in Washington.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but when we speak -- politicians listen. They have to, because they know we are speaking with the voice of the millions of American taxpayers like you. Taxpayers who vote!

So when we turn up the heat, it really does make a difference. But we can only make the necessary impact with your input . . . and yes, with your financial support, too. Obviously, we don't take a single dime of taxpayer money.

So the only way we can fight in Washington for the fiscally conservative positions of taxpayers is thanks to the generosity of friends like you. So can I count on your support today?

Will you please include a generous $29 gift with your TAXPAYER'S SURVEY? $29 is just one dollar for every year ATR has been fighting in Washington on behalf of American taxpayers like you.

Of course, if you can afford to send more than $29 -- please do. I'm hoping friends who can send gifts in the $100 to $250 range will generously agree to give that much today. Maybe even a few folks will dig deep and send $1,000 and even larger amounts, if we're lucky.

I won't guess how much is right for you. Only you can decide that. I'll simply count on you to send as large a gift as fits your budget. Maybe that's the $29 I suggested. Maybe it's some other amount.

But whatever size gift is the most generous you can manage -- please send it along with your TAXPAYER'S SURVEY as soon as you possibly can.

Remember, the Direct-to-DC-Envelope I've enclosed will ensure your SURVEY and generous contribution get  to me in Washington without delay. So please don't let your special Direct-to-DC Envelope go to waste.

First, fill out your TAXPAYER'S SURVEY. It's just 5 easy questions. Then, consider how much you can afford to donate. Every single dollar you can send will help ATR fight for lower taxes for ALL Americans, in accordance with the SURVEY answers you provide.

I can't fight alone. It's only because we have so many taxpayers like you standing behind us that ATR is able to be so effective in DC. Your gift of $29 -- or any other amount you can spare -- is critical to fighting the tax-and-spend culture in Washington.

I'm so proud that ATR is able to fight for you and taxpayers across America. I'd be even prouder if you'd help us.

Sincerely,

Grover Norquist, President

Americans for Tax Reform

P.S.    I almost forgot -- my team is hoping to have all our TAXPAYER'S SURVEYS collected and tabulated by the middle of next week. Can you be sure to send yours in the next three days so it arrives in time?

Remember to use the Direct-to-DC Envelope I've provided so your TAXPAYER'S SURVEY doesn't get held up in the mail. And please try to include as generous a gift as you can. $29 would be a great help!
