Dear Friend,

[3-2014 letter] Extreme. This is the only way to describe the astonishing attack by the Obama Administration on Christians and conservatives.

They have unleashed the IRS itself on American citizens -- they have deliberately targeted Tea Party groups and other conservative organizations -- confiscated their tax-exempt status so they can't fulfill their mission, especially in a pivotal election year -- All of which threatens your constitutional freedoms.

Here's why I'm bringing you this alarming information.... My name is Jay Sekulow, and I serve as Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) . For more than 20 years, we've worked to protect life and liberty -- from local school boards all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States, where I have argued 12 cases.

Today, the assault we are seeing -- this incredible IRS scandal -- goes beyond anything we have witnessed at the command of any American President in our lifetime. But extreme times call for extreme measures.

To stop the IRS, and the outrageous abuses of the Obama Administration -- to protect you and your family from an unprecedented loss of your religious liberties -- the ACLJ has rolled out the most massive lawsuit in its history. We've assembled our largest legal team ever.

We are representing 41 targeted organizations in 22 states -- the scope of this case is staggering. It would be a huge case with only Ma one of these organizations -- but multiply by 41, and you begin to see the reality we're facing: It's extreme.

But this is really about you. Your constitutional freedoms are on the line. For your sake, we are engulfed in our most intensive, most expensive, most time-consuming case ever -- and we need your help with it. I urge you to help us fight and win this urgently important battle.

Please understand: The media is barely mentioning this scandal. They want to sweep it under the rug so that conservative groups will be damaged this year as they were in 2012. We cannot let this issue simply evaporate. I actually testified before Congress about this scandal.

But the real fight must be won in the courts. This is why the ACLJ has spearheaded this litigation against an out-of-control agency of the federal government.

Our opponents have a virtually bottomless wellspring of funding with which to fight back. But we can't let them get away with it -- not after what they've done to Christian groups ... not after what they've done to conservative organizations ... Not after what they've done to the Constitution of the United States.

The corruption we've witnessed -- and the corruption we've uncovered -- is almost unbelievable:

(a) the initial cover-up;

(b) nobody fired;

(d) an Obama appointee's office implicated;

(e) the FBI declining to press charges, without interviewing a single one of our 41 clients;

(f) and perhaps most outrageous of all, an Obama top political donor appointed to head the Justice Department's investigation into the scandal --

And President Obama had the audacity to declare that there is "not a smidgen" of corruption at the IRS -- before an investigation is even complete -- before a single one of our 41 clients was interviewed! You can't make this up.

Clearly, the cronyism is out of control. The corruption is over the top. And the Constitution is under fire. So is every conservative in this country.

The Obama donor must step down as head of the investigation. I urge you to join the ACLJ in petitioning her directly, calling for her recusal.
